Join us for an exclusive celebration IN FULL BLOOM as world-renowned breeder, Raymond Evison, unveils a luminous new cultivar, Clematis Ithemba. Travelling to South Africa for this special occasion, Raymond will share the inspiring story behind this remarkable bloom – a symbol of generosity, renewal, and hope.

‘Ithemba’, meaning hope in Zulu, is more than a plant – it’s a tribute to the inspiring work of the Children’s Hospital Trust in Cape Town.  With luminous white blooms brushed in soft pink and a story rooted in compassion, this clematis is set to captivate hearts and gardens alike.

Let’s celebrate beauty, hope, and horticultural excellence — supporting both the Red Cross Children’s Hospital and our Bursary Fund for deserving young South Africans.

Acclaimed broadcaster and host of Cape Talk’s Afternoon Drive

John Maytham is the acclaimed afternoon drive-time host on 567 Cape Talk, where his distinctive voice, quick wit, and incisive interviews have made him one of South Africa’s most respected broadcasters. A trained actor, John transitioned into radio more than two decades ago, beginning his career with Capital Radio 604 before joining Cape Talk as its first on-air voice, news editor, and breakfast host when the station launched in 1997. With a career defined by curiosity, depth, and a passion for meaningful dialogue, John continues to shape public conversation and engage listeners across the country.
